There are two ways to use LinkedIn to search for potential candidates: one internal searches, LinkedIn Advanced Search,and an external search that uses one of the many Search Engines to find contacts through LinkedIn's Public Profiles. This is hereafter referred to as SITE:SEARCH. An Advanced Search is an internal search, and is extremely useful when searching for local candidates. Log into LinkedIn, and on your home page, top right, select Advanced Search. The second, and most powerful and time efficient search technique is Site:Search, which taps into a person’s LinkedIn Public Profile. Because Site:Search is performed outside LinkedIn’s website, many of the rules and restrictions of a free LinkedIn account are lifted.
